A Cleveland Radio Station Bans Christmas Classic, ‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside’
A Cleveland radio station has drawn some attention after banning the Christmas classic, “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” in which a man tries to convince a woman not to leave a party while she repeatedly says she wants to go.
The 1944 song has undergone a re-evaluation in recent years, particularly in the age of #MeToo, and station WDOK-FM, which bills itself as “Cleveland’s Christmas station,” decided to pull it from the playlist.
If you read the lyrics, it’s not something that I would want my daughter to be in that kind of a situation. The tune might be catchy, but let’s maybe not promote that sort of an idea.
