Taylor Swift returned to her country roots for a surprise appearance at Nashville’s famed Bluebird Cafe. She joined songwriter Craig Wiseman on stage Saturday night and got a standing ovation from the roughly 40 patrons. She went on to swap stories of her younger days in Nashville as a teen, play songs like her mega-hit “Shake It Off” and even trade shots of Fireball whisky. Swift also performed “Better Man,” a song she wrote for Little Big Town that earned her a Grammy nomination and the band a #1 country hit. She also reminded Wiseman he passed on the opportunity to write “Love Story” with her. The two have known each other since meeting at a charity show when she was a teen. Swift’s performance was filmed for a documentary on the 35th anniversary of the Bluebird Cafe.
