Election

The municipality runs elections for Mayor and Council, as well as the Conseil scolaire acadien provincial.

On Saturday, October 5, 2019 there will be a special election in HRM District 15, Lower Sackville to fill the vacant Council seat. Advance polling dates will be Saturday, September 28, 2019 and Tuesday, October 1, 2019.

A list of declared candidates will be published by the Election Office and will be updated daily.

This election will be entirely electronic. All votes will be cast either online or by telephone. The Advance Polling Period will begin on September 28, 2019, opening online and telephone voting. The advance polling dates and election day will provide physical polling locations for voters. Votes will still be cast electronically, but elections staff will be on hand to provide the technology and support.

Starting on August 8, 2019, residents can call 902-490-VOTE (8683) to ensure they are on the voters’ list.
