2019 Hydrostone Tree Lighting Ceremony! This is the 9th annual Tree Lighting in Halifax’s beautiful and historic Hydrostone District.

Come celebrate this special community event with free drinks, cookies, and entertainment. Our friend Santa will be on-site and of course, the finale is the tree lighting! Donations will be greatly appreciated and accepted in support of North End Halifax’s Veith House programs. Wish list items include bus tickets, grocery store gift cards and non-perishable items. Last year, with your support, Christmas cheer was provided to more than 250 families in our community.

Mental Health Foundation of NS:

Our Mental Health Wish List features a variety of items you can purchase that will enrich the lives of mental health and addictions clients in treatment, in recovery and in your community. You can give the gift of a round of coffee, art supplies to bolster their creativity, life-saving mental health first-aid training, or vital therapeutic experiences. You can purchase these items as a gift for someone you love, and know you’re making a difference in the lives of Nova Scotians living with mental illness and addiction, and their loved ones.

CALLING ALL DOG LOVERS! CNIB Guide Dogs is seeking dog lovers in the Halifax area who would like to become volunteer puppy raisers or volunteer boarders. If you’d like to provide a loving home for a puppy in training as part of supervised obedience and socialization, get in touch!

Sackville Area Warming Centre is open for the season. 10 Beaverbank Road. Just come to the back door and ring the bell and they will welcome you with a smile. Open 9:30pm to 6:00am Wed. – Saturday.
