DESCRIPTION:Canada Day recognizes the birthday of our country. \nOn July 1\, 1867 Canada became a new federation with its own constitution by signing the Constitution Act – formerly known as the British North America Act. \nThe name “Canada” comes from the Huron-Iroquois word “Kanata” meaning “village” or settlement.” \nToday is one of those days where we get to take a look into the telescopes of the past. If we know history\, we have a better chance of not repeating mistakes of the past.\nLike any other country\, we are not perfect\, but together\, we can strive to make this country the envy of the world\, by making our leaders accountable\, and making ourselves more accountable too. \nCanada Day is a national statutory holiday celebrated in all provinces and territories and it is a day off for most businesses. \n
