The city’s outside workers have overwhelmingly rejected the latest contract offer from HRM by 90%.
CUPE says that despite the threat of a lockout by management, it’s hopeful it can negotiate a new agreement without a service disruption. The bargaining unit includes gardeners, utility workers, traffic sign and marking technicians, painters, building tradespeople and plant operators, including arenas, rinks, and pools.
