SIRT investigating police cell incident
SIRT is investigating after a man was taken from the police lockup to hospital.
The 47 year old Dartmouth man was arrested for public intoxication Monday night and put in a cell. A routine check about an hour later found him unresponsive and he was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition.
The Serious Incident Response Team says the man’s condition was apparently self-inflicted.
