Police Wrap Up at Scene of Dartmouth Murder

Halifax Police have finally cleared the scene of the city’s ninth homicide of 2016. A murder investigation is underway into the death of a man who called for assistance before dying from a fatal gunshot wound on Thursday. Officers say that 48-year-old Rickey Walker of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, had called police to report he had been shot. He was lying behind John McNeil Elementary School on Leaman Drive. Walker was taken to hospital but he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
