NDP wants more help for immigrants

The New Democrats are concerned new immigrants aren’t getting enough help settling in to Nova Scotia.

3,400 immigrants arrived in the first six months of this year.  Julie Towers, head of the province’s office of immigration, thinks the figure can reach 7,000. But NDP MLA Lenore Zann says funding may not be keeping pace with the rising demand for job training, assistance to schools and language classes.
