A thousand Nova Scotians have dry wells…and efforts are ramping up to deal with the drought in southwest Nova Scotia.
Wells have been going dry in other parts of the province as well…but the south shore and southwest are the hardest hit areas.
Zack Churchill, the minister responsible for emergency measures, says help is on the way. Sobeys and other retailers are trucking in bottled water today. Fire halls and municipal offices have been providing water to those who need it. Some parks with shower facilities are opening them to area residents.
