Battle of Britain commemorated

The Battle of Britain was marked yesterday with a ceremony at the memorial at Sullivan’s Pond in Dartmouth.

Mayor Mike Savage was there along with cadets and soldiers to mark the lengthy battle where Spitfires and Hurricanes battled the Nazi’s plans trying to bomb England into surrendering in the summer of 1940. 24 of the 94 Canadian pilots involved in the battle were killed.
