NATO airlifts fisherman to hospital
Military personal taking part in a NATO exercise off the coast of Nova Scotia helped rescue a fisherman Saturday.
The 24 year old man was in medical distress about 160 kilometers southwest of Halifax, near where the NATO exercise was taking place. A doctor from a British ship was sent over to the vessel. He determined the man was in very bad shape and couldn’t wait for a chopper from 14 Wing Greenwood to get out there. So a helicopter from an American ship picked the man up and brought him to Halifax.
