On the ice…the Russians edged Team North America 4-3 at the World Cup of Hockey last night. Earlier, Team Europe beat the Czech Republic 3-2 in overtime.

On the diamonds…The Blue Jays beat the Mariners 3-2 to increase their lead over Detroit and Seattle in the wildcard race.  Red Sox downed the Orioles 5-2.  Yankees were off.

On the gridiron…the Eagles beat the Bears 29-14 in the Monday Night NFL game.
