Cyberbullying law still a work in progress
Justice minister Diana Whalen says her people are still consulting with experts on how best to replace the cyberbullying law which was struck down by the provincial Supreme Court as violating the Charter of Rights. Whalen says they want to make sure the new law can withstand the test of any court challenge. So it won’t be ready before the spring.
The initial law was passed in 2013 in the wake of the death of Rehtaeh Parsons.
