Dartmouth Man Arrested for Forcing 17-Year-Old Halifax Girl into Toronto Sex Trade

A Dartmouth man has been arrested in Toronto for allegedly forcing a 17-year-old Halifax girl into the sex trade. 24-year-old Shondell Lucas-Johnson is accused of recruiting the 17 year-old in Halifax and forcing her to work in a Toronto spa and provide sexual services. Police say Lucas-Johnson destroyed the girls ID and phone, preventing her from calling for help or being identified as underage. He’s also accused of assaulting the girl. Lucas-Johnson is facing eight charges of trafficking a person under the age of 18 and forcible confinement. He was arrested in Halifax on Wednesday and brought back to Toronto for a court appearance on Thursday.
