Fishermen fighting tidal turbine testing
A group of fishermen is concerned giant tidal turbines will be tested before it can get a court order to stop the tests.
The Bay of Fundy Inshore Fishermen’s Association is afraid Cape Sharp Tidal could conduct the test this fall before a judge has reviewed the environment minister’s decision approving the project. The Association has a court date set for October 20th to argue its case that not enough testing has been done and baseline data set.
Cape Sharp Tidal wouldn’t comment on the case because it’s before the courts…but did says the project remains on hold during a so-called voluntary pause.
