Premier tours Sydney devastation
Premier Stephen McNeil says he couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw the uprooted trees, washed-out roads and other damage from the storm that pummelled Sydney and surronding areas.
McNeil toured the area yesterday by air and on foot to see the damage first hand. The Premier said he’s sure once the damage totals come in it will meet the threshhold of $3 million to get federal disaster assistance.
Many people have been told by their insurance companies already that their policies do not cover this type of flooding.
