Timber talk continues

The province is working closely with Ottawa, other Atlantic provinces and the lumber industry to ensure the Maritimes continues to be excluded from American import duties or restrictions on softwood lumber.

The Maritime Exclusion is based on regional Crown stumpage rates honouring fair market prices.  Nova Scotia lumber exports to the US were worth $85 million in 2014.
