Election recounts?

There’ll likely be at least one recount in Halifax…and possibly three after the municipal election.

Andrew Curran lost by just 15 votes in District 10 Halifax-Bedford Basin West to incumbent Russel Walker. Curran has complaints that some voters were directed to the wrong polling station.

In District 14 Middle/Upper Sackville-Beaver Bank-Lucasville, Lisa Blackburn defeated long-time councillor Brad Johns by 47 votes. Shawn Cleary won District 9 Halifax-West Armdale by 107 votes ousting Linda Mosher.

Candidates can’t ask for a recount until after the official vote count is released today.
