Shocking lung disease numbers in the Arctic

A new study says the rate of serious lung infections in newborns in the Arctic is higher than in sub-saharan Africa.

Lead author Anna Banerji said she was shocked at the results of the study of infants in northern Quebec and western Nunavut. They knew the region has had high rates for years…but Banerji says these are among the highest ever recorded.
