Teachers’ strike?

The countdown is now on to a potential teachers strike.

A concilliator has filed his report with the government. The union will have to wait 44 days in a cooling off period before it can give 48 hours  strike notice which would make it in early December. The NSTU has scheduled a strike vote for October 25th.

Education Minister Karen Casey has proposed the two sides sit down to talk about non-contract items like working conditions.
