Fishermen fight turbines

The Bay of Fundy Inshore Fishermen’s Association is in court today trying to stop the deployment of massive turbines in the bay of Fundy.

The Association wants a judge to stay the government’s approval of the project.

Graham Daborn, an Acadia University scientist, will be in court challenging the fishermen’s claims that the turbines will harm marine life. He told CBC most of what the fishermen have been saying is not true or not based on the evidence they have.

Colin Sproul, of the Inshore Fisherman’s Association, says Daborn is a paid consultant for the energy industry.
