Maintenance Enforcement Act amendments to help better collect child, spousal support
Legislation has been introduced to strengthen the province’s ability to collect court-ordered child and spousal support payments. Maintenance Enforcement Act amendments will give increased authority to enforce and expanded powers to find parents who are regularly behind on payments. This includes the ability to prohibit the renewal of a drivers licence, more power to obtain identifying information, and the ability to serve notices electronically.
