Funding for first responders gear

The province is providing almost a million dollars to first responders for new gear.

Premier Stephen McNeil says the $985,000 will help them buy protective equipment and other rescue tools. Each eligible group will see half the cost covered by the province to a maximum of $20,000.  It will include fire fighters, search and rescue volunteers, Hazmat teams.
