9-11 – Gander

Canadians and Americans gathered in Gander on the 15th anniversary of 9-11.

Motorcycles and emergency vehicles provided an escort for a piece of steel beam from the World Trade Center which will be part of a memorial at the Gander Airport. Nearly seven thousand passengers were stranded in the small community for three days. Local people opened their hearts and homes, providing lodging food and other assistance.
