Province increases fines for illegal cutting on Crown land
The province has increased fines for illegally cutting timber on Crown land. Individuals could be fined up to $50,000 for a first offence, with a second offence possibly seeing a $100,000 fine or year’s imprisonment – if not both. Companies could get a $250,000 fine for a first offence and double that for others.
