Truck Goes for Swim in Halifax Lake
A bad tow job led to to a truck going for a swim in a Halifax Lake on Saturday. Shortly after 4p.m. a tow truck was hauling another truck up the incline on Maple Drive in Dartmouth when it disconnected. The truck then rolled downed Maple Drive, across busy Waverley Road, through a guard rail and into Lake MicMac. The runaway truck drifted about 30 feet out from the shore before sinking in 15 feet of water. Fortunately, no was hurt. A secondary tow truck and dive team were called in and a section of Waverley Road was closed for a couple of hours while the vehicle was extracted from the lake.
