Back to school dates

Kids go back to school next week after summer holidays…but it won’t be when Education Minister Karen Casey wanted.

Casey wanted classes to start September 6th…but schools boards say it’ll be a day or two later. They say teachers and administrators need time to prepare and for training.

The Halifax Regional School Board will open the schools September 8th.

Students at Annapolis Valley Regional School Board will start classes Sept. 7. South Shore Regional School Board and Chignecto Central School Board begin classes September 8th.
