The police board in Amherst has reprimanded and suspended town councillor and board member George Baker for 90 days for using a racial slur.
Baker, who is also running for Mayor admitted to using the slur at a local pizzeria.

Police board vice-chairman Paul Calder thinks the ruling sends the message that Baker’s conduct was not acceptable. Amherst town council refered the matter to the police board when it decided it didn’t have the authority to deal with allegations of misconduct.
