A Colchester County man has pleaded guilty to two charges of second-degree murder in the deaths of his common-law wife and her daughter near Bible Hill.

50 year old Gerald Ashley Rushton of Valley admitted to beating 24 year old Brittany MacPherson to death with a baseball bat during an argument. Then he killed her 54 year old mother Elizabeth MacPherson, his common-law wife, with a hammer when she got home. He’ll be sentenced in November.
